History

Canyon Lakes Golf Course was established in 2015. They are a restaurant, bar, and public 18 hole course located in San Ramon just up the hill from Bishop Ranch. Their onsite brewery is now open and serving their own draft beers. The course is under new management as of November 2015 and is better than ever.

The course is in really good shape and you will surely enjoy the variety in the holes. There are a lot of blind shots so you need to play it a few times to learn the layout. The pro shop staff is great and the restaurant food is pretty good. The restrooms on the course are clean. The only thing you would wish they would change is to lower the "noodles" in the holes so they are below the surface of the green. The way they now make it hard to tell when the putt is "in".

Fun, but challenging course. The back 9 is the gem, so if you're going to just play 9, start on the back. Hole 14 should be on a list of most challenging holes in the Bay Area. The course is under new ownership but the changes in the right direction are definitely visible. The visitors here highly recommend the brewery at Canyon Lakes Golf Course.
